Hello all! We’ve had some cancellations, which now gives a golden opportunity to those who were thinking about attending the workshop but thought it was too late:
.
The Restoration Workshop has a few openings due to cancellations for instrument restorers and bow restorers to join us in our new home at the beautiful Clerestory at the Pajama Factory In Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Dates for this years workshop are June 15 through the 21st.

Guest Instructors Greg Sapp, Stacey Styles, and Pete Oxley will be joining the usual team of staff instructors in a collaborative workshop environment. Costs for the week are $1100 for tuition which covers a evening meal, and $640 for the week for housing at the historic Genetti Hotel. A better than average breakfast is included with the hotel, lunch is on your own.

This comes from a deep understanding that we are only temporary custodians of instruments and bows in our care. Here is an example of 3D scanning and CNC milling carried out by Dmitry Tarakanov and staff instructor/co-director Jerry Lynn. This intervention allows for a stable joint between a plate and rib structure with little or less material loss from the plate. The facilities @pajamafactory allowed there to be zero separation between violin restorers and bow restorers allowing both to benefit from the exchange of ideas.
